Job Summary
Entry-level position that works with direction and supervision to perform general and/or preventative maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, facilities, and equipment, and provides assistance to trade workers as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintains and repairs buildings, building systems, equipment, and interior finishes, or minor skilled maintenance and repair tasks under direction.
- Aids in assembling materials and tools for work to be performed.
- Cleans work areas, machines, and equipment following work completion.
- Attends all technical and safety-training, including on-the-job training, uses all PPE, and adheres to safety guidance.
- Reports all safety hazards to supervisor and/or immediately corrects if able to.
Position Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent with basic computer knowledge, valid driver's license, and ability to operate forklift, scissor lift, and/or skid loader.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trade school or high school shop classes, previous work experience in related field.
Physical And Mental Requirements
- May require physical work; lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
- Often requires walking/standing, bending/crouching/reaching/etc., and at times sitting.
- Manual dexterity and strength to work with hand tools.
Working Conditions
- Work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures and contact with hazardous materials, dust, dirt, smoke, unpleasant odors, loud noises, etc.
- Often work outdoors and indoors.
- Evening and weekend hours may be required to meet goals and objectives.
