Building Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building codes and regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Inspect buildings and structures during construction and after completion to ensure adherence to approved plans and standards.
• Issue permits and maintain accurate records of all issued permits.
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and other stakeholders.
• Respond to complaints and inquiries from the public regarding building code compliance.
• Participate in code enforcement activities and investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
