About the role
SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and ensure they comply with local building codes and regulations.
- Inspect construction sites to ensure adherence to approved plans and safety standards.
- Issue permits and maintain accurate records of all issued permits.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and developers on building code requirements.
- Conduct inspections of completed projects to ensure compliance with approved plans and safety standards.
- Respond to complaints and inquiries from the public regarding building code violations.
- Participate in code enforcement activities and investigations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Experience with computer software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Skills

- Ability to make independent decisions based on building codes and regulations.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Pay
$70,000 - $80,000 annually.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
