Building/Grounds Specialist II- Evergreen

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping (60% essential): Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, and polishing floors in the assigned area; conduct floor care such as waxing, buffing, and dry‑and‑wet stripping; operate buffing machines, wet‑and‑dry vacuums, and roto washers; shampoo carpet using a carpet extractor.
• Inspecting and Data Management (20% essential): Accompany the supervisor during building inspections, discuss results, follow guidance on safety measures, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance; assist in testing new cleaning products and update records regarding their use and performance.
• Inventory and Equipment Maintenance (10% essential): Assist in maintaining inventory, ordering, and distributing supplies in assigned areas; request new products as needed; stay current on equipment‑use standards; inspect and restock restrooms.
• Training and On‑Call Support (10% essential): Complete on‑the‑job training and related educational instruction per the Custodial training program; complete required University trainings (online and in‑person); respond to emergency, weekend, and snow callbacks.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience in custodial, housekeeping, or pest‑control work directly related to the area.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Custodial Services.
• Valid Class D driver’s license (normal, under 26,000 lb).
• 3 + years of relevant work experience.
