About the Role
Responsible for providing effective leadership and directing the work of subordinates. Ensures all preventative facilities tasks are performed as per schedule and the facility operates in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and partner with all departments to maintain, repair, and upgrade facility-related equipment.
- Enforce existing policies and procedures to support the facility and all departments.
- Implement approved techniques for corrective and preventative maintenance; provide or assist with training for facilities staff.
- Proficiently install and repair:
- All facilities support equipment within the boundaries of training from available user manuals, corporate instruction, and personal expertise.
- Plumbing, electrical, electronic, and mechanical applications.
- Schedule and supervise all forms of machine repair/maintenance:
- Direct the installation and repair of facilities-related machinery/equipment.
- Manage all maintenance activities related to facility equipment.
- Coordinate services provided by contractor and vendor support for machinery/equipment repair.
- Ensure effective use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to schedule and document preventative maintenance and maintain an accurate parts inventory.
- Select staff, coach performance, and provide ongoing communication regarding performance, training, and development opportunities.
- Monitor and document onsite contractors; assist the Maintenance and Facility Manager in developing and maintaining contractor records.
- Provide backup support for the Maintenance and Facilities Manager when they are out of the plant.
- Coordinate with Process Engineering, Product Development, and Quality Assurance for process and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to a working environment that allows equal opportunities for development, growth, and advancement.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Work Environment
- Work occasionally near mechanical parts and in high places.
- Exposure to cold temperatures in the winter and hot temperatures in the summer.
- Occasional duties in an outside environment.
- Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience, including supervisory skills and contractor management, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of facility-related equipment and quality control procedures used in a food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to forecast, analyze, and identify improvement opportunities in Building Maintenance.
- Manage capital projects related to facility upgrades on equipment including HVAC, Boilers, Chilled water systems, Air Compressors, Elevators, Security systems, Lighting, and advanced floor and wall coverings.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to lead facilities employees to completion of assigned duties.
- Ability to identify problems with facility systems, develop solutions, and implement a course of action.
- HVAC knowledge is required.
- PC Skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other corporate software programs or comparable software.
- Safety experience, including the ability to provide proper training and oversight for all Facility employees.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Push/Pull up to 300 lbs.
