Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair buildings’ HVAC systems, including replacing worn or defective parts.
- Understand Building Automation Systems and have the ability to identify problems and present proactive solutions.
- Work knowledge of DDC controls.
- Measure superheat temperatures and make superheat adjustments.
- Operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment and service gauges.
- Replace burned out light bulbs, check electrical circuits, repair dimmers, refrigeration controls and contacts.
- Ability to use volt, ohm meter and read electrical schematics.
- Ability to wire motors and motor controls.
- Fabricate office partitions, doors, cornices, counters, panel walls and ceilings.
- Perform all maintenance necessary to keep all locks and locking devices in functional and safe operating condition.
- Install, connect and test sanitary plumbing fixtures, fire sprinklers, hydraulics, refrigeration, various gases, steam and other pressure systems.
- Perform water-testing treatment for boilers and chillers.
- Complete and submit paperwork in a timely manner, so that the CMMS can be properly updated.
- Taking ownership of inventory and ordering of spare parts and materials in a timely manner.
Requirements
- 5 years of journey-level experience.
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Able to get along with co-workers and develop team work.
- Able to present a well-groomed appearance.
- A high school diploma or equivalency certificate is required, five or more years of mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
- Preferred Universal CFC certification as well as city/county/state license(s) and/or certification(s) as needed.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- EPA certification (for refrigerant handling).
