This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, focused on providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The role is a 1st shift position (Monday – Friday) and requires on-site work in the Redmond, WA area. You will apply advanced technical and operational skills for preventive maintenance and corrective repair of commercial buildings, labs, essential utility systems, and grounds for a Global Tech client.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
  • Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program to ensure systems operate efficiently.
  • Assist with implementing a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems.
  • Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Review inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share expertise across job disciplines.
  • Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE’s RISE values.
  • Build consensus and influence others to reach agreements.
  • Impact customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information effectively.

Requirements

  • HVAC/R experience, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair service.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. A combination of experience and education may substitute for a diploma.
  • Universal CFC certification is preferred.
  • Certifications/licenses as required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Prior shift management or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on analyzing multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to explore new perspectives on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills, including calculating percentages, fractions, and financial-related figures.

Pay

The salary for the Building Engineer position ranges from $36.05 to $42.79 hourly, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience.
