About the role
CBRE is seeking Commercial Building Engineers who are passionate about keeping facilities cool, comfortable, and running smoothly. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and involves supporting, maintaining, and repairing building system operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
- Ensure facility and building systems comply with applicable standards.
- Maintain an energy management program to ensure systems operate efficiently.
- Implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
- Respond to emergency repairs as needed.
- Follow departmental policies for the safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Review and inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to solve complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Lead by example and model CBRE RISE values.
- Collaborate with other teams to impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities.
- Explain difficult or sensitive information.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of four (4) years of building engineering or job-related experience.
- Experience focusing on HVAC/R, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
- EPA certification is preferred.
- Additional certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
Qualifications
- Ability to meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve complex problems.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
