Building Enclosure Senior Project Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional with strong knowledge of building science and infrastructure-related testing and consulting services to collaborate on a variety of projects, mentor junior staff, and lead project meetings. This role involves managing project budgets, preparing change orders, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. You will also market our services, maintain and develop the client database, and ensure high-quality deliverables through peer reviews and final sign-off.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff members on diverse projects and actively mentor junior team members.
• Coordinate and lead project meetings, providing solutions to technical and administrative issues.
• Market services and maintain/develop the client database.
• Manage project budgets, prepare change orders, review invoices, and assist with collection efforts.
• Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines and demonstrate exceptional technical writing skills.
• Prepare building science and infrastructure reports, perform analysis, and provide recommendations.
• Interpret test results, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead client meetings to present and discuss report findings and conclusions.
• Oversee the preparation and review of reports, proposals, and change orders from junior staff.
• Direct project setup and implementation, ensuring appropriately trained staff are assigned.
• Oversee building science and infrastructure projects, resolving issues and training field staff.
• Perform peer/senior review of deliverables prior to submission for Principal review.
• Host or attend project discussions with clients and follow up on reports.
• Schedule, train, and supervise subordinate staff members.
• Collaborate with other managers on staffing decisions and maintain appropriate staff levels.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5 years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture (NCARB), Civil (Structural) Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
• PE license required in the state(s) where you work; additional licensure or certifications may be required depending on the work performed.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary.
• Extensive knowledge of building science and infrastructure principles, building/materials codes, and construction practices.
• Extensive knowledge of structural, architectural, and building systems design and/or analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Dependable, self-motivated, responsible, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, supervisors, and independently.
• Strong interpersonal, project management, and consulting skills.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds multiple times a day, stand for extended periods, walk on uneven ground, and work at heights.
• Strong judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Leadership skills and experience managing and developing new clients.
• Experience delegating tasks and managing multiple projects independently.
