About the role

The Senior Building Controls Technician position at Building People LLC/The is responsible for managing and maintaining building automation systems to ensure optimal energy efficiency and security. This role requires a strong background in building controls and a current security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of building automation systems including HVAC, lighting, and security systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on building systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure system reliability.
  • Implement energy-saving measures and monitor energy consumption to reduce costs and improve sustainability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.
  • Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of system performance and maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in building automation systems.
  • A current security clearance.
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting of building automation systems using software such as BACnet, Modbus, and KNX.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
