Program Description

This program focuses on both commercial and residential construction techniques; reading plans and specifications; and developing trade skills in carpentry, masonry, electricity, plumbing and air conditioning. It trains students in forklift operation, OSHA standards, and prepares them for careers as Building Inspectors, Tiny House Builders, and other construction roles on-site at the school.

Program Content

The program offers a sequence of courses that cover applying construction techniques, reading plans and specifications, and developing trade skills in carpentry, masonry, electricity, plumbing, and air conditioning. Students will also receive certifications such as NCCER Core, NCCER Cabinetmaking, NCCER Carpentry and Masonry, NCCER Electrical and Plumbing, and NCCER A/C Painting and Construction Equipment.

Certification/Licensure

NCCER Core, NCCER Cabinetmaking, NCCER Carpentry and Masonry, NCCER Electrical and Plumbing, NCCER A/C Painting and Construction Equipment. Students can join SkillsUSA and/or HOSA for leadership training and career reinforcement.

Articulation

May be available toward credits at Florida public colleges/universities. Speak with a career counselor for more information.
