Responsibilities
- Able to conduct Controls Servicing jobs, as well as Construction Controls installations in a prompt and efficient manner
- Perform Direct Digital Control (DDC) service and construction activities with or without direct supervision and/or assistance
- Able to provide customer "point-of-work" recommendations for added control services, unit components, unit replacements, control system upgrades, which can then turn into future HVAC sales leads and commercial service contracts
- Provide fluid dialog with the HVAC Service Sales team, ensuring all possible sales leads are communicated in a timely manner
- Willing to perform related duties as directed by the Manager, Building Automation & Commissioning
- Able to confirm company vehicle usage is only for company requirements
- Must be able to operate company vehicles in a safe and legal manner at all times. Cell phone use while driving is prohibited
- Ensure company vehicle is in well maintained and clean condition at all times
Non-Essential Duties
- Cross-train within the department to provide back-up coverage as needed
- Use self-initiative to remain current with industry trends (engage in webinars, virtual conferences, educational reading, etc.)
- Accept and perform other work as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of related experience in commercial controls service or as an installation technician
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Work within industry standards of accuracy
- Good verbal and reading skills include the ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and to clearly communicate with customers, suppliers and other CES employees
- Able to read and understand mechanical blueprints, control drawings and specifications
- Must be able to climb, balance on ladders and stand for long periods at a time
- Must not have fear of heights (Acrophobia)
- Possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Possess basic knowledge of manufacturers control system software
- Individual must wear safety glasses as required while performing certain tasks
- Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs and backlog constraints
- Valid Florida Driver's License is required
- Incumbent must be insurable at all times by CES insurance carrier
