About the role

This role supports our Houston, TX branch location, serving customers throughout the greater Houston area. At Siemens, we enable sustainable progress through technology by empowering customers to combine the real and digital worlds. As a Service Account Executive, you will support our Service Agreements business within our commercial Smart Buildings Automation Controls Service team. Our Sales team collaborates with the Building Automation Operations team, focusing on automation service and maintenance in large commercial buildings such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities. You will act as an ambassador of Siemens technology, products, and services, helping customers optimize and maintain a safe, emergency-ready workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve new order and profit goals based on your assigned quota for both service projects and service agreements, with a focus on growing Siemens digital and energy services business within the installed base and new customer market.
  • Develop and maintain a qualified funnel of opportunities, including forecasting expected order intake, and consistently deliver on forecasted results.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace, competitor offerings, customers, and decision influencers across the region, segments, and verticals.
  • Stay current on automation, digital, and energy market business and product trends.
  • Create a vertical market and account management plan focusing on strategic growth in energy, automation, and digital services.
  • Identify new business opportunities in new markets or adjacent segments and develop "go-to-market" strategies to drive business to end-user customers and the standard construction channel.
  • Act as a consultant to multiple levels of the customer’s organization by understanding their challenges and recommending services to ensure their building systems meet business goals.
  • Attend industry-specific networking events and actively participate in professional organizations such as ASHRAE, I2SL, or MGGBC to build a network and represent Siemens.
  • Consult with customers to determine budgeting and investment requirements, positioning Siemens as an industry leader among service providers.
  • Collaborate with operations and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
  • Work with internal sales support to maximize customer-facing time and collaborate with sales estimators to prepare cost estimates and customer bid packages.
  • Partner with other sales business teams to plan, target, and acquire new projects and accounts.
  • Work with operations, finance, legal, and other resources to obtain sales.
  • Actively participate in sales department meetings, workshops, and seminars to stay knowledgeable on current market, business, and product trends.
  • Spend a minimum of 50% of time in customer-facing activities, performed in person and on customer sites.
  • Spend one to two days in the office for team collaboration and strategy development meetings.
  • Travel overnight approximately 10% for training and business development as required by your assigned territory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or state-recognized GED.
  • 8+ years of experience selling building automation to commercial customers, construction firms, developers, building owners, facilities organizations, or related industries.
  • Ability to demonstrate financial expertise to estimate and sell technical solutions and service offerings effectively and independently.
  • On-the-job exposure to account development and strategic sales skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Salesforce CRM Software, IoT, and networking experience.
  • Experience developing energy service opportunities leveraging local utility incentives and federal incentives.
  • Experience in life sciences, healthcare, education, data center, and commercial office vertical markets.
  • Experience selling to end users/owners and demonstrated understanding of how to market, position, and sell cloud-based, data-driven service programs such as fault detection and diagnostics.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $82,538 - $141,494 annually plus an uncapped sales incentive structure. The actual wage offered may vary depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
