About the role
The purpose of your role as a Building Automation Project Sales Representative is to develop revenue from sales activities to new and existing clients by developing solutions for building automation projects in assigned markets. This position also requires the ability to manage existing customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Show competent understanding of HVAC and Building Automation systems and how they function.
- Show understanding of energy use, sustainability, and operational waste in systems.
- Show Systems-Thinking – ability to see the entire system and how the components function to meet the customer’s business expectations.
- Show the ability to interpret drawings, equipment, and job conditions.
- Show the ability to survey/identify systems and understand the prospect’s needs and problems.
- Show the ability to determine repair, modification, replacement, and/or upgrade requirements to provide prospects with solutions to problems.
- Show the ability to translate knowledge, experience, and solutions into proposals that will enhance the customer’s facility while reducing costs to operate, maintain, and repair systems.
- Show use of Harris CRM to maintain an up to date and accurate sales pipeline.
- Show cross-sell and up-sell controls, service, and mechanical project work within your region to leverage the full range of capabilities.
- Show Retrofit with plan and spec solutions.
- Show key knowledge of retrofit building automation solutions.
- Show Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and requirements of the project.
- Show Accurately estimate sizes, distances, and quantities to determine time, costs, resources, subcontractors, and materials needed to meet the specification or custom solution.
- Show Understand the prospects needs, both technically and financially, and use that understanding to create customized solutions to their needs.
- Show Use standard operating practices to generate project pricing at the company authorized margins.
- Show Develop proposals for solutions using Harris SOPs.
- Show Always conduct business in alignment with Harris values.
- Show Maintain timely and professional communication with assigned accounts, prospects, and opportunities.
- Show Promptly addresses customer concerns to assure resolution of problems and maintain long-term positive relationships.
- Show Builds rapport and productive working relationships with customers, vendors and Harris team members.
- Show Effectively represent the company’s interests in all activities.
Requirements
- Show Associate’s degree in construction sciences, HVAC, or related field, or equivalent journeyman experience.
- Show Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Show Proven track record and the ability to identify retrofit building automation including modernizing, upgrades, or replacements in building automation.
- Show Experience with customer relationship development/maintenance.
- Show 4+ years of knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical and components.
- Show 2+ years of experience with customer relationship development/maintenance.
- Show Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
- Show Ability to prepare financial justification for solutions including an understanding of energy savings.
- Show Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical and components.
Qualifications

Pay
$67,524.87 - $101,287.31 The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
