About the role

Our Service Specialists perform assigned tasks on building automation systems, including service agreement maintenance, projects, and on-call (time and material) service. You will respond to emergency service calls during regularly scheduled hours and after hours as needed. As the face of Siemens, your expertise and regular interaction with customers will help them save energy and money while creating a more sustainable future.

You will execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies, collaborate with internal service team members, follow safety requirements, and maintain tools and test equipment. The role includes supporting after-hours on-call rotations, performing repairs on automation systems, completing service ticket documentation, and providing customer training. You may also identify system upgrade opportunities, assist with pricing, and perform system checkouts on projects.

Work overtime when needed, including extended hours to meet commitments. Rotational on-call and minimal overnight travel may be required. You will participate in job site final walkthroughs and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies
  • Work with internal service team members, including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and RAM Digital Service Center personnel
  • Follow safety requirements and complete assigned training
  • Adhere to mandatory policies, procedures, and standards; coordinate with contractors on job sites
  • Support after-hours on-call rotation and respond to emergency and on-site service calls
  • Perform repairs on all automation system types
  • Complete service ticket documentation and maintain preventive maintenance schedules
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services performed and generate reports using Siemens tools
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel on system operations and assist with training
  • Identify and report system discrepancies; suggest upgrade opportunities and assist with pricing
  • Perform system checkout and startup on projects
  • Work overtime, including extended hours to meet commitments
  • Participate in rotational on-call and minimal overnight travel
  • Participate in job site final walkthroughs and system-to-service turnover

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment
  • Electro-mechanical experience (through previous role or education) and user PC/software skills
  • Ability and willingness to work in various conditions, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, high lift equipment, ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, and above ceilings
  • Ability to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment/tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and limited violations; must meet eligibility for Siemens’ fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Specialized skill training/certification
  • 2+ years of experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment
  • Knowledge of building automation systems, PLCs, HVAC, electrical concepts, and building operations
  • Engineering and programming (PLC or BMS) background
  • Knowledge of building system communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP)

Pay

The pay range for this position is $58,976 - $101,102 annually. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
