About the role
The Build Systems Engineer - DevOps will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining build systems and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. This individual will work closely with development teams to ensure that build processes are efficient, reliable, and scalable.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement build systems using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or others.
- Maintain and optimize existing CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand their needs and integrate build processes effectively.
- Develop and maintain documentation for build systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor build systems and pipelines for performance and reliability issues.
- Stay current with new technologies and best practices in build systems and CI/CD.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering or related fields.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of version control systems (Git).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of build automation tools (Maven, Gradle).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, PyTest).
