Around the Role

We build what wakes up at night – as a stage craftsman you ensure that every set lives up to its promise.

Responsibilities

• Built and rebuilt stage sets on tour and lead local hands at each tour location
• Maintain and repair stage sets and props
• Unload and load trucks
• Document work and processes
• Prepare and check work materials for completeness and functionality
• Wait, repair, and clean technical equipment needed for performances during the tour
• Set up and construct technical equipment during pre-production time, construct and assemble it
• Support with the creation of props when needed
• Support stage operations or follow spots during performances in coordination with the stage management or technical team when needed
• Prepare and pack tour equipment
• Support special events when needed

Requirements

• Completed training as a stage craftsman, locksmith, carpenter, tapestry maker, or equivalent experience in this field
• Experience in theater or musical areas
• Physically capable, especially for lifting heavy set parts
• Knowledge of theater equipment and fittings in the area of stage technology
• Experience with hand machines for processing wood, metal, and plastic
• Good organizational skills, quick comprehension, and team spirit
• Proficient in working independently, self-sufficiently, structured, and efficiently
• Fluent in both written and spoken German and English
• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and nights
• Professional interaction with actors and creatives
• Presentable and confident

Benefits

• Attractive monthly gross salary of 3.250–3.750 €, depending on experience
• Meal allowance of 28 € per day
• Night shift supplement of 25%
• Sunday shift supplement of 25%
• Full holiday supplement of 100%

Pay

• Gross monthly salary of 3.250–3.750 €
