Responsibilities

  • Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training team members
  • Plays a key role in planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Appraises performance and addresses complaints and resolves problems
  • Promotes and enforces purchasing specifications, storeroom requisition systems, product storage requirements, standardization recipes, and waste control procedures
  • Supports the Executive Chef in recruiting, managing, and disciplining kitchen personnel
  • Aids in scheduling kitchen employees based on business forecasts and budgets
  • Trains service personnel on food preparation, ingredients, nutritional values, and special dietary requests

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of industry best practices and customer service
  • Commitment to details both verbally and non-verbally
  • Understanding of instructions and ability to communicate with little or no additional direction
  • Adaptability to different personalities and personalities of clients, vendors, and coworkers
  • High professional ethics and avoidance of extreme familiarity or conflicts with others
  • Evaluation of current practices and processes, immediate recognition of potential areas of conflict, and initiation of improvements
  • Mediation skills to handle all types of conflicts at various levels of supervision and negotiation abilities
  • Flexibility to work overtime and assist with workload
  • Knowledge of health and sanitation requirements for the State of Colorado
  • Familiarity with computer/POS functions including all MS Office applications
  • Ability to effectively supervise others and be self-disciplined
  • Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Passes a food handling and sanitation test
  • Understanding of measurements of liquid and weight and temperatures
