Responsibilities
- Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training team members
- Plays a key role in planning, assigning, and directing work
- Appraises performance and addresses complaints and resolves problems
- Promotes and enforces purchasing specifications, storeroom requisition systems, product storage requirements, standardization recipes, and waste control procedures
- Supports the Executive Chef in recruiting, managing, and disciplining kitchen personnel
- Aids in scheduling kitchen employees based on business forecasts and budgets
- Trains service personnel on food preparation, ingredients, nutritional values, and special dietary requests
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of industry best practices and customer service
- Commitment to details both verbally and non-verbally
- Understanding of instructions and ability to communicate with little or no additional direction
- Adaptability to different personalities and personalities of clients, vendors, and coworkers
- High professional ethics and avoidance of extreme familiarity or conflicts with others
- Evaluation of current practices and processes, immediate recognition of potential areas of conflict, and initiation of improvements
- Mediation skills to handle all types of conflicts at various levels of supervision and negotiation abilities
- Flexibility to work overtime and assist with workload
- Knowledge of health and sanitation requirements for the State of Colorado
- Familiarity with computer/POS functions including all MS Office applications
- Ability to effectively supervise others and be self-disciplined
- Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Passes a food handling and sanitation test
- Understanding of measurements of liquid and weight and temperatures
