Position Overview/Duties

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) announcement for a Budget Technician (OA) in the South Atlantic Division, Savannah District, Real Estate Division.

Position Title: Budget Technician (OA)

Open Period: 26 June-14 July 2026

Duty Location(s): Savannah, GA.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative and budget support to Real Estate Division employees.
  • Support includes property accountability, credit card purchases, time keeping, training coordinator responsibilities, and assisting with personnel actions and onboarding new employees.
  • Maintains fiscal control over military, civil, and revolving fund reimbursable assigned.
  • Monitors the use and rate of expenditure of funds through coordination of program officials and their staff, review of written documents, and examination of accounting records.

Other Conditions and Requirements

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Minimum Education Requirement

Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience performing an array of services for the Real Estate Division, Savannah District to include administrative and budget support to Real Estate Division employees.

  • This position requires a Certification Level 1: THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 1 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense requirements of this certification program. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
  • This position has no Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement.
  • This position may be eligible for situational telework.
