Budget Technician
Qualifications
To qualify for this position - applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirement: For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation - but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year - it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade - as required by the announcement. In this instance - you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Duties
- Conduct maintenance of fund control point ceilings
- Establish and change fund control points within the Financial Management System (FMS)
- Tracking budget items
- Moving funds among control points to reflect adjustments and ceiling increases
- Recording each transaction
- Audit fund control point records
- Provide suggestions and guidance to control point clerks and officials
- Assist them in reconciling accounts
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
The work is normally of a sedentary nature - although the employee may occasionally carry light items such as books - files - and reports from one office to another. Typically the work is performed while comfortable seated at a desk or table. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Schedule
Full Time - 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday - 7:30am to 4:00PM
