Budget Analyst - Tallahassee

About the role

The candidate will be doing professional accounting, budgeting & financial reporting. The training will be very technical and a strong understanding of accounting is critical for success. Position located in Tallahassee, FL with a 12+ month duration. Work environment: professional office.

Responsibilities

• Maintains various specialized accounting records
• Compiles and analyses of large amounts of financial data
• Ability to read and interpret statutes and regulations
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) & Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Pronouncements
• Understanding of General Ledgers, Trial Balances, and GAAP Financial Statements
• Knowledge of Microsoft (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, etc.)

Requirements

• CPA or BS in Accounting
• 10+ years of experience working with FASB/GASB
• 10+ years of financial statements preparation
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with General Ledger systems (QuickBooks, PeachTree, CYMA, FLAIR, etc.)
• Ability to create, update and manage desk procedures
• Experience with financial & programmatic compliance audits
