About the role

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $5,717 - $6,438 per month.

Overview Of Duties And Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage university budgets across multiple funding sources, including monitoring expenditures and fund balances
  • Perform financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support institutional decision-making
  • Process and reconcile budget transactions, including transfers, allocations, and fiscal year-end activities
  • Manage position funding and labor cost distribution processes, ensuring data accuracy across systems
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for financial and budget systems (e.g., CHRS/CFS, Questica), including troubleshooting and system support
  • Provide consultation, training, and guidance to campus departments on budget processes, policies, and financial systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience
  • Additional experience that demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities of this position may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • General knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental budgeting and accounting
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of public finance
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills (i.e., financial and data analysis, multiple fund sources)
  • Ability to monitor and reconcile financial activity, as well as assist to make financial projections and prepare related reports (e.g. budgeting and reconciliation for capital projects, multiple fund sources)
  • Ability to take the initiative, anticipate problems, and assist in solving issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment
  • Ability to assist to formulate well-reasoned courses of action of solutions to problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field, with a concentration in public or business administration, Accounting, or Finance is highly desirable
  • Experience with automated financial systems, complex spreadsheets, databases, and/or database query tools is desirable but not required
  • Experience using CMS/CFS (Common Management System - Financials, HR) or other similar software enterprise systems is highly desirable
