About the role

The Y is dedicated to putting Christian principles into practice through programs that promote healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. This position supervises children in licensed Before and Afterschool Enrichment or Early Learning programs.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and responds to individual differences in children, promoting growth and development.
• Creates a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Guides children in expressing their feelings and interacting with peers.
• Maintains confidentiality and collects information on children's growth and learning.
• Communicates respectfully with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Supports the nutritional needs and healthy eating practices of children.
• Supports the implementation of weekly lesson plans.
• Improves teaching and learning through professional work habits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed child care center preferred
• Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire
• At least 18 years old

• Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for signs of child abuse and neglect
