BSA Analyst
About the role
Banesco USA is seeking a BSA Analyst for our Alerts & Exceptions Team unit.
Responsibilities
- Review account alerts and exceptions for high, moderate & low risk accounts through the Bank’s AML Monitoring System.
- Analyze transaction data in the In-House systems, Truth Technology and Google searches and document findings or request further information from the account officers and verify provided information.
- Discuss any incongruence in the account activity with the Manager and prepare referrals for the bank’s investigation unit.
- Conduct flag exclusion analysis on a yearly basis.
- Maintain awareness of daily reports for cash activity and serve as a backup for the daily JH/ECS Reconciliation.
- Assist BSA Manager in preparing for audits and other related tasks.
- Assist management in other duties and projects as assigned.
- Complete annual training program assigned.
- Perform other functions and/or duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Associate’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the Banking industry in the BSA/Compliance area, working as an investigator or monitoring analyst.
- Experience using ECS Monitoring System (Required).
- ACAMS or BSA/AML certification preferred.
- Proficiency with specialized software used to trace crypto transactions, such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM Labs, and CipherTrace.
- Deep comprehension of how different cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies work, along with associated risks and typologies for financial crime.
- Advance computer skills including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
- Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish. Ability to fluently speak, understand, read and write both languages.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to multi-task, with strong organization, time-management and prioritizing skills.
- Knowledge of BSA/AML standards and practices.
- Intermediate knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations and operational policies.
- Able to work in a team environment ensuring deadlines are met.
- Able to understand and comprehend instructions, procedures and policies ensuring compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Intermediate knowledge in bank’s operation activities, terminology and products and services.
