About the Role

The Supervision Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY) supervises banks in the Second District. The objectives of supervision are to:

  • Evaluate and promote the overall safety and soundness of supervised institutions
  • Ensure supervised institutions’ compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Facilitate the stability of the financial system of the United States
  • Support the growth and stability of the U.S. economy

Supervision is carried out through a combination of on-site and off-site examinations involving staff dedicated to the supervision of an individual firm and other professionals focused on analytical, policy, and risk matters. The Supervision Group is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Globally Systemically Important Banks, Large and Foreign Banking Organizations, Regional and Community Banking Organizations, and Financial Market Utilities in the Second District. Teams execute examinations, monitoring, and analysis in coordination with the Board of Governors, other Reserve Banks, and other domestic and international agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain deep knowledge of the firms and industry strategy, risk profile, governance, risk management, and control functions via monitoring, analysis, and examination activities.
  • Contribute to the development of supervisory priorities and supervisory plans needed to assess core risks and make well-supported recommendations.
  • Develop and present examination and analytical results to a range of stakeholders and supervised institutions.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with Bank, Federal Reserve System, and interagency partners to develop supervisory responses to, and analysis of, inherent and emerging risks.
  • Help identify and address emerging risks to supervised firms, the financial system, and financial stability.

Requirements

  • Ability to take on a leading role on examinations at financial institutions and/or an ability and willingness to learn about complex regulations, including supervisory expectations and findings.
  • Supervisory or industry experience in Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML).
  • Extensive expertise in BSA/AML and sanctions compliance frameworks, with demonstrated ability to evaluate financial crimes at large, complex banking organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations, along with proven experience conducting compliance assessments across diverse lines of business, products, and services.
  • Excellent project management, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

This position requires access to confidential supervisory information (CSI) and/or Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) information. Access is limited to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, individuals who meet the definition of “protected individual” under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), and certain other nonimmigrants. All non-U.S. citizens authorized to access CSI and/or FOMC information must sign a declaration of intent to expeditiously become a lawful permanent resident and thereafter a U.S. citizen when eligible.

Pay

Salary Range: $164,200 - $242,200. This range reflects a variety of skills and experiences candidates may bring to the job. We pay individuals along this range based on their unique backgrounds.

Schedule

This is a full-time, regular position. Work is conducted onsite with teams, though occasional flexible work arrangements may be accommodated.
