BSA/AML Analyst

Responsibilities

• Conducts day-to-day compliance activities related to the credit union's BSA/AML Program.
• Works with the BSA Manager to ensure consistency with executive management's commitment to BSA/AML regulations.
• Provides leadership and assistance to the BSA team and serves as backup to the BSA Manager.
• Identifies BSA trends and reputational risks and recommends best practices to the BSA Manager annually.
• Reviews and analyzes Verafin alerts and behavior settings to ensure optimal analysis and report recommendations.
• Oversees the review and analysis of suspicious activity information forms (SIFs) and open cases for suspicious activity.
• Ensures timely filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with FinCEN guidelines.
• Serves as Bellco’s 314(b) point of contact and assists the BSA Manager with 314(b) requests.
• Monitors and structures cash activity reports and prepares Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
• Reviews monthly wire reports and large cash reports for suspicious activity and BSA/AML violations.
• Coordinates and corresponds with Branch Operations staff on MIP trending reports.
• Reviews and documents non-filed case reviews and ensures clear documentation of reasons for non-filing.
• Assists in preparing materials for BSA training, audits, and exams.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One year of experience working for a credit union or bank involving consumer compliance issues related to BSA/AML.
• Previous audit or quality control review experience preferred.
• Training in bank/credit union BSA/compliance preferred.

Skills

• Excellent written/verbal communication skills and outstanding problem-solving/decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC regulatory requirements.
• Strong and sound decision-making capabilities to understand complex and sophisticated money laundering alerts and investigations.
