About the role
The Stylist works directly with customers to build brand affinity and long-term relationships in our Bryant Park showroom. This is an appointment-driven, relationship-based sales role: beyond delivering great service on the floor, the Stylist actively builds a client book, generates appointments through proactive outreach, and drives repeat business through consistent follow-up. The Stylist provides top-tier styling advice and product recommendations tailored to each client's needs, and understands how their daily activities—outreach, appointments, engagement—directly connect to store performance and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Styling, Selling, & Brand Expertise: Ask the right questions, independently assess each client's needs, and curate complete looks and product recommendations based on their profile, requests, and feedback; make confident styling recommendations, skillfully field objections, and close sales while delivering an elevated customer experience; understand store performance metrics (conversion, average order value, units per transaction, repeat business) and strive to maximize individual and store sales targets; confidently work high-volume events: proactively approach guests, spark natural conversation, and identify shopping opportunities; introduce customers to the brand and product with the goal of converting event traffic into showroom visits and sales; stay current on M.M.LaFleur merchandise, fabrics, fit, and product benefits, and use that knowledge to make thoughtful, needs-based recommendations; stay up to date on promotions, policies, and services.
- Clienteling, Outreach, & Appointments: Build and maintain an active client book; develop long-term customer relationships that increase retention and customer lifetime value; aim to create repeat visits and ongoing engagement; create genuine connections and translate those interactions into lasting client relationships; maintain consistent communication with clients; follow up after appointments, purchases, events, birthdays, and new product arrivals; facilitate a culture of empowerment and respect among your team and clients.
- Store Operations & Team Support: Support omnichannel purchases such as ship from store orders; maintain visual standards and store cleanliness to company expectations; support opening and closing duties.
