About the role

The Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center is responsible for product development of leading boat brands, including Boston Whaler and Sea Ray, alongside other globally recognized names known for innovation and quality. This internship is part of the Research & Advanced Design team, where you will develop and share the story for the future of Brunswick Boat Group products across brands such as Boston Whaler, Sea Ray, Lund, Crestliner, Lowe, Harris, Bayliner, and Heyday.

The team focuses on consumer insights, user experience, futures research, advanced concept design, and worldbuilding narratives. You will uncover insights from existing products to inform new product development and help create research-backed visions of long-term futures.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Consumer Insights team in research synthesis and uncovering insights & opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Consumer Insights, Industrial Design, and Brand teams to develop the story of insights and translate them into presentation formats.
  • Assist with multi-media production where applicable.
  • Ensure timely and adequate completion of all tasks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of research processes.
  • Participate in collaborative sessions with Advanced Designers to support futures research-backed narratives.
  • Work well with others in a team environment and foster clear, continuous communication with other groups.

Internship Projects

  • Collaborate with Consumer Insights and Advanced Design in developing engaging presentation formats and identifying appropriate media for storytelling.
  • Assist with polished slide deck creation and editing for visual appeal and clarity of story & insights.
  • Potential opportunity to join a Consumer Insights Specialist on a Voice of the Customer trip.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States immediately, without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Multidisciplinary skills and/or experience preferred.
  • Basic video creation and editing skills; knowledge of AI tools is a bonus.
  • Proficiency in PC-based tools, with a focus on Microsoft Office and collaborative whiteboarding tools (e.g., Miro, FigJam).
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong people and soft skills, demonstrating professionalism and excellent ability to collaborate in a team.
  • Submit a resume and portfolio or work samples (under 2 GB) or provide a link to an online portfolio or website.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years towards a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s candidate in a related area of focus.
  • Marine-related experience is not required; motivation to learn and curiosity are valued.
  • Prefer at least 1 prior internship or work experience.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on factors including year in school/credits earned, degree, job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range.

Schedule

This internship is a full-time commitment from June to August 2025.
