Bronx: Combat Food Insecurity with New York Common Pantry!

About the role

New York Common Pantry reduces hunger and promotes dignity, health, and self-sufficiency by providing an array of programs that help establish long-term independence for those in need. Volunteers assist in picking and packing bags of fresh produce and shelf-stable foods for immediate distribution to food-insecure program participants. Some volunteers may also help participants select groceries from inventory using tablets, pack groceries according to order, distribute food, or assist with heavy lifting, such as unloading trucks of food and transporting it into the pantry.

Schedule

• Morning Pantry Shift: Wednesday - Saturday, 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM
• Afternoon Pantry Shift: Wednesday - Saturday, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
• Heavy Lifters Delivery Shift: Wednesday and Friday only, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
