About the role

The Food Pantry Worker ensures the organization, cleanliness, and proper stocking of the pantry, assisting individuals in need with warmth and friendliness.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist consumers
• Manage food inventory and storage
• Help with food deliveries and pickups
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards
• Document food temperatures and expiration dates
• Support efficient pantry operations and team collaboration
• Coordinate food orders with supervisors
• Unload and store shipments
• Maintain freezer defrosting and food rotation
• Promote healthy food choices
• Participate in staff meetings and agency activities

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma required
• Valid NY State Driver License and reliable vehicle access
• Experience in food industry preferred
• Ability to perform physical tasks, maintain organization, and work collaboratively
• Attention to food safety, cleanliness, and inventory management
