Brokerage Operations Specialist

About the role

The Brokerage Operations Specialist will manage new and existing accounts, negotiate rates with carriers, and build long-term business relationships through exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage new and existing accounts
• Negotiate rates with carriers
• Build long-term business relationships
• Use exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills to manage all customers' needs and expectations
• Report to the Logistics Manager
• Find, develop, improve, and utilize service-focused methods for moving and protecting the profitability of the operations

Requirements

• Freight brokerage experience required
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Customer service experience
• Ability to work with all levels - Operations and/or sales
• Ability to develop long-term business relationships
• Excellent computer skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Some college coursework is preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of major cities/airport locations in the continental US
• Willingness to work Saturdays
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed
• Forklift and general freight handling knowledge is a plus
• General computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, AS400
• Must be 18 or older
