About the role

The Broker III – Trade Credit plays a crucial role in empowering results for clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting commercial risk. Reporting directly to the US Practice Leader for Structured Credit & Political Risk, this is a hybrid role offering flexibility to work from either the New York or Baltimore, MD office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a sophisticated portfolio of Trade Credit accounts, including placement and service, and ensure client deliverables are maintained.
  • Represent the local office or region on new business and renewal opportunities.
  • Lead by example as a strong sponsor of Aon’s Leadership Model, supporting local colleagues, and fostering connectivity, collaboration, and cooperation within local office practices.
  • Develop, implement, and execute growth strategies aligned with the USA region.
  • Develop and manage relationships with Insurance Carriers specific to the Trade Credit segment.
  • Participate in Large Account Reviews and promote innovation in broking strategies.
  • Handle difficult client conversations and demonstrate solid Carrier Relations in the Trade Credit market.
  • Understand, analyze, and apply data and analytics to make informed decisions.
  • Manage financials, metrics, and broking levels effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and all internal and external constituents.
  • Travel to clients located throughout the United States.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience negotiating Trade Credit placements.
  • Demonstrable record of being a 'Highly Engaged Leader' at Aon or similar organization.
  • Growth-oriented individual contributor.
  • Solid Carrier Relations in the Trade Credit market.
  • Comfort learning and using new systems and applications.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and apply data and analytics.
  • Promote innovation in broking strategies.
  • Experience handling difficult client conversations.
  • Current insurance license or ability to quickly acquire an insurance producer's license in all applicable states.

  • Knowledge of the Trade Credit market dynamics.
  • Structured Portfolio Solutions development and field utilization.
  • Bespoke Broking and participation in Large Account Reviews.
  • Effective communication and relationship building.
  • Ability to travel to clients throughout the United States.

Pay

The salary range for this position (for U.S. applicants) is $140,000 to $180,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

Pay Transparency Laws

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
