Responsibilities
- Pay weekly commissions to 1800+ agents using cutting-edge technology.
- Review new policies from incoming commission statements and input into Agency Management System.
- Generate outgoing commission advances and earnings to agents.
- Reconcile incoming commission payments to expected schedule and identify and resolve differences.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve various commission issues.
- Generate reports from Agency Management System related to commission payments.
- Handle commission statement scanning & filing.
- Handle incoming and outgoing agent calls & emails related to commission issues.
- Ensure excellent service is rendered to agents.
- Aid in developing/operating procedures to ensure efficient and effective commission accounting operations.
- Perform complex financial transactions in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Balance account statements by identifying issues and correcting financial errors.
- Conduct weekly quality oversight activities for individuals and carriers.
- Support and coach other commissions accounting associates.
- Provide backup to Commission Accounting Manager and other Commission Accounting Analysts as needed.
Requirements
- Proficient computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent people skills to lead and coach others.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization.
- High proficiency in calculating figures and amounts such as commission premiums and percentages.
- Experience with system testing and documentation of new processes.
- Insurance industry experience preferred, but not required.
- Four-year college degree in Mathematics, Accounting, or a similar field.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
