Broiler Tech Advisor I - Grannis, AR/Broken Bow, OK

About the role

This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds, ensuring proper care and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Advising producers regarding building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation.
• Conducting farm visits to document bird comfort, manage flock conditions, and adjust equipment settings.
• Monitoring bird health and providing remedies when possible.
• Monitoring feed consumption and ordering feed.
• Pulling blood and fat samples on schedule.
• Coordinating chick placements to farms and assisting with catch schedules.
• Ensuring communication between hatchery, feed mill, and live haul for contract farms.
• Maintaining compliance with production contracts to produce high-quality, low-cost flocks.
• Ensuring adherence to USDA and other government regulations for poultry handling.
• Collaborating with Broiler and Breeder Departments on weekly chick placements and other tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; degree in animal science, poultry science, or related agricultural field preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in poultry, with grow-out experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including email, data entry, and simple document or query creation.
• Willingness to travel 1–5 times per year.
• Must not own, possess, or maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl.
• Must pass an animal welfare background check.
• Ability to perform physical job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
