Broadband Technician (Copper) - $1,500 Sign On Bonus
About the role

In April of 2019, AFL made a major investment in ITC Service Group, a Sacramento-based company providing broadband installation, design and staffing services to the telecommunications and IT industries.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers effectively and professionally
- Read and understand mainframe/cross-connect/control point layouts to run jumpers
- Utilize test equipment and interpret test results for all workstreams
- Use necessary computer skills and Android platform mobile device applications
- Install and configure customer-owned computers
- Run or reuse coaxial or Category 5 (CAT 5) wiring
- Install aerial drops, internet hubs, and routers
- Install Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) and power supplies
- Verify service and place wires between walls
- Work within attics or crawl spaces
- Follow OSHA safety requirements
- Perform pole climbing and ladder safety
- Install and repair Cat 3, Cat 5e, Cat6, RJ11, RJ45 jacks, drops, and NIDs
- Verify service and perform splicing of fiber drop connectors
- Work with test sets as required
- Understand telephony color codes and identify assigned cable pairs
- Manage tasks using the Mobile Tech Portal and associated task clearing codes
Requirements
- Must have your own vehicle and tools
- Basic electricity and transmission of "xDSL" installation
- Completion requirements for each unit
- General computer skills
- Technical understanding of loss, attenuation, and tilting

- Ability to work well with others to achieve common goals and foster a cooperative climate
- Ability to work independently in the field with little supervision
