About the Role
Primarily responsible for maintenance, repair, additions, alterations, and general upkeep of primary headends, secondary headends, hub sites, relay sites, antennas, towers, and earth stations. Includes reception, processing, combining, and transmission of standard analog and digital CATV services, high-speed internet, and telephony duties as directed by a supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Perform all job responsibilities and duties of a Broadband Specialist I-V.
- Maintain, repair, test, align, and adjust headend equipment, including processors, modulators, demodulators, encoders, decoders, satellite receivers, switchers, fiber optic transmitters/receivers, digital headend equipment, telephony equipment, generators, air conditioning, power conditioning, and other related equipment.
- Conduct regular proof-of-performance and other headend/plant testing, documentation, and reporting in accordance with FCC rules.
- Perform headend alterations, including design changes, service additions, channel rearrangements, equipment improvements, and updates to air conditioning, power conditioning, standby generators, towers, antennas, and satellite RX/TX stations.
- Maintain proficiency in FCC performance specifications and independently initiate and complete comprehensive testing, including all FCC-required or recommended tests and measurements.
- Ensure headend and related equipment consistently meet FCC specifications.
- Train personnel as directed by a supervisor.
- Protect and defend equipment, property, and materials against loss, theft, or damage.
- Maintain all assigned equipment in proper working order, including calibration, repair, adjustment, and alignment.
- Maintain facility security, including security and alarm systems, in accordance with company policy.
- Perform installations and service changes while adhering to applicable codes, requirements, guidelines, company procedures, and safe work practices to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
Requirements
- 8 years of Cable Television or Telecommunications technical experience, with at least 3 years as an Advanced Technician or equivalent.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to interpret and complete various work order forms accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
Physical Requirements
Physical effort includes frequent handling of heavy objects (approximately 50-100 lbs.) and materials, or heavy hand tools.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $21.25 - $30.96 hourly, determined by factors such as years of related work experience, relevant skills and qualifications, education level, and certifications/licenses.
