Bridge Project Manager
About the role
We are seeking a Bridge Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role will involve planning and managing all aspects of small to medium single-discipline engineering projects or large, routine projects. You will also foster and develop client relationships, independently coordinate work of engineers, and be involved in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline engineering projects or large, routine projects
- Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and your staff
- Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance planning team throughout entire project’s development
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate or adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule
- Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive practice
- Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects to ensure completion of documents on schedule
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
- Review, assign work and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs
- Mentor younger staff and support continued development
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering
- Caltrans bridge design experience
- California High Speed Rail Experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA
- Experience mentoring junior staff
- Proficiency with seismic design and detailing of bridges
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- 10 years of Caltrans Bridge Design Experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teams
- Prestress Concrete Design
- CIP Concrete design
- Strong organizational, listening, and mentoring skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software
- PMP certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 7 years related experience
- A minimum 2 years project management experience
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.

The expected compensation range for this position is $129,000 - $217,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
