Job Responsibilities
- Manages a team of professionals in the delivery of projects for a variety of clients across the country, focused on quality work and profitable delivery.
- Works with leadership to develop a growth strategy and execute that strategy with support from both local office and other regions/divisions.
- Creates, develops, and maintains professional, client relationships with Department of Transportation liaisons, and leaders of municipal entities, contracted inspectors, and contractors to facilitate the execution of projects.
- Constructs structural engineering designs and modifications by conducting site investigations, identifying and establishing performance standards, and applying the most appropriate structural engineering concepts, techniques, and criteria.
- Capable of taking the lead in the design/analysis process and managing engineering project teams.
- Improves structural engineering designs by establishing functionality, reliability, maintainability, and durability test standards and performing analytical and numerical quantification procedures and visualizations.
- Defines structural engineering design projects by identifying short-term and long-range issues, and preparing timelines, cost estimates, and required resources for issue resolution plans.
- Conducts complex calculations relating to foundations and structures, loading, structural response, and connection designs to ensure project specifications are met.
- Safeguards construction by performing compliance inspections and tests, resolving construction problems related to structural design, and coordinating with construction and production contractors.
- Implements processes that help ensure constant organizational compliance with all laws, codes, and regulations that govern structural engineering planning and design operations.
- Prepares structural engineering information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- Experienced in developing and managing project budgets and schedules and understanding how to win and deliver profitable work.
- Experienced managing projects, people and processes working with limited supervision.
- Improves structural engineering designs by establishing functionality, reliability, maintainability, and durability test standards and performing analytical and numerical quantification procedures and visualizations.
- Prepares structural engineering information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Technical Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) Illinois Structural Engineering SE License.
- Adept at digital literacy skills.
- Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills.
- Defines structural engineering design projects by identifying short-term and long-range issues, and preparing timelines, cost estimates, and required resources for issue resolution plans.
- Conducts complex calculations relating to foundations and structures, loading, structural response, and connection designs to ensure project specifications are met.
