ENGINEER STRUCTURAL 3

The Role

Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs.

Duties:

• Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
• Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
• Utilizes tools such as CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and various software applications.

Requirements:

• A strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• The ability to work with a team or professionals from different disciplines.
• Field experience on construction sites working as an owner representative or for a general contractor.

Responsibilities:

• Supports facilities in the new construction project management team.
• Manages the design and construction of structural and civil work/systems associated with utility infrastructure, building and other industrial construction projects.
• Reviews drawings, supervises construction projects, and ensures compliance with legal and environmental regulations.
• Coordinates with consultants, contractors, and local enforcement agencies to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; a Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; or a Ph.D. and 0 years of experience in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
