We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and collaborative New York Bridge Group Lead /Department Manager located in New York, who will have the opportunity lead a team of bridge Engineers, and work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our client’s challenges across Ontario, Canada and worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a group of bridge Engineers and designers.
  • Drive workforce planning/workload balancing efforts with a focus on retention, recruitment, and career progression for our staff.
  • Support MoPs and PMs in identifying resources to support transportation projects across the geography and beyond.
  • Steward career development—basic skill development and sustainment, technology training, growth opportunities and skill refinement—using the e3 process.
  • Drive a culture of caring, quality, safety, and Inclusion and Diversity.
  • Coach and mentor a team to deliver superior results collectively and individually.
  • Develops strong client relationships, both internal and external to the team, and enhances projects performance.
  • Lead technical teams in developing solutions to complex bridge design projects, requiring a high degree or innovation and ingenuity.
  • Provide technical expertise by formulating and developing advance design concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Lead the preparation of proposals and participate in interviews and presentations.
  • Work with our operations and sales leadership team to maintain and build new business through effective engagement and proven performance with our existing and new clients.

Requirements

  • Professional engineering certification (P.E.)
  • Substantial post graduate years experience with demonstrated experience with project management and engineering design responsibilities.
  • Strong social, communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Substantial experience in operations and team management.
  • Extensive experience in Technical Leadership of bridge projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis and prepare technical documents such as reports, design drawings, specifications, tender documents, etc.
  • Collaborative and team oriented as well as highly resourceful and self-directed, with a key focus on key skills including communications, time management, teamwork, report writing, and proposal preparation.

Qualifications

  • Substantial experience in operations and team management.
  • Extensive experience in Technical Leadership of bridge projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis and prepare technical documents such as reports, design drawings, specifications, tender documents, etc.
  • Collaborative and team oriented as well as highly resourceful and self-directed, with a key focus on key skills including communications, time management, teamwork, report writing, and proposal preparation.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $190,000.00 to $210,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
