About the role
We are seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our well-established and experienced Idaho Bridge Group in Coeur d’Alene, ID. The ideal candidate will apply structural engineering and detailing techniques for DOT and local agency highway bridges, and will be involved in various bridge design projects.
Responsibilities
- Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques for DOT and local agency highway bridges, including steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, segmental, and cable bridges.
- Work on projects that may include box culverts and interchange designs for highway projects.
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized software, and perform structural load calculations.
- Assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
- Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs.
- Serve as a technical lead on mid-sized projects.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in bridge design
- Experience delivering projects for local clients (ITD or local municipalities)
- Experience managing junior staff
- 4 years bridge/structural design experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Previous experience in bridge design
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge
- Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bently OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design
- Experience managing junior staff
- Excellent communication skills and working in a team environment
