Bridge EIT / Designer
About the role
We are looking for a Bridge EIT / Designer to join our team. This role involves applying structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs, working on projects that include various types of bridge designs and highway/railway projects. You will also perform structural load calculations, assist with geometric layout and quantity development, and participate in bridge inspections.
Responsibilities
- Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs
- Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects
- Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, and develop structural details using specialized software
- Participate in bridge inspection, perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or related engineering degree
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate preferred
- Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge
- Knowledge of MS Office, MathCAD and AutoCAD, LARSA and Prestress Concrete Design experience
- Experience in bridge/structural design preferred
- Local candidates preferred
