Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Constructs bridge related structures and other concrete structures according to specification including prefabricated or built-in place decking with overhangs for bridges.
- Performs bridge building tasks such as building wood and metal forms for the casting of concrete structures, tying rebar walls and cages, and setting concrete girders.
- Assists with pouring, grading, and finishing of concrete.
- Properly erects and dismantles all forms and other supports.
- Communicates with supervisory personnel to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Participates in and promote safety procedures to promote a safe working environment including compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
Position Requirements And Education
- A High School diploma or GED or related field;
- and 3 years of experience in bridge construction;
- or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Other Skills & Abilities
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Working knowledge of materials and construction concepts.
- Ability to properly manage and prioritize resources.
- Team player, with strong leadership skills, who can operate effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of management.
- Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
- Ability to prepare layouts of projects by estimating height, width, length, and other proportions and accurately read/interpret blueprints preferred, but not required.
