Bridge Area Discipline Lead

RS&H is seeking a Bridge Area Discipline Lead to join our Transportation Practice in our Jacksonville office. As a leader in bridge design throughout Florida, RS&H delivers innovative solutions for high-profile bridge projects and client challenges. Responsibilities

• Oversee structural aspects of bridge design projects from conception through construction.
• Lead and supervise a team of bridge engineers, providing mentorship in structural design and career development.
• Manage current and future bridge projects, ensuring successful delivery.
• Lead technical pursuits, proposal writing, and business development activities.
• Serve as an Owner’s Representative on projects.
• Foster client relationships and contribute to presentations and proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (Master’s degree with a structural emphasis preferred).
• Florida Professional Engineering (PE) registration, with the ability to obtain comity in other jurisdictions as needed.
• 12+ years of progressive structural engineering design experience (minimum of 7 years).
• Experience designing transportation structures, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, miscellaneous structures, and construction engineering.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, Excel, Mathcad, and structural design software (e.g., STAAD, MDX, LPILE, CONSPAN, RISA, LARSA).
• Experience with Finite Element Method/Analysis is preferred.
• Experience with traditional Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods.
• Experience working on FDOT projects.
• Proven ability to manage and mentor engineering staff.
• Strong business development skills, including client relationship management, proposal writing, and presentations.
