Brick Manufacturer Cell Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Loading, unloading, and cleaning tunnel and periodic kilns
• Handling sulfur-impregnated bricks and stones
• Testing and stenciling bricks that fall outside specification ranges
• Maintaining sulfur levels in brick and stick pots
• Preparing materials by pulling components, weighing mixtures, and operating mixers
• Screwing materials for pressing, maintaining a clean environment, and setting up and operating brick presses
• Installing dies, cutting and forming materials for top punch and fill, and weighing/mixing components for cellulose manufacturing
• Troubleshooting machinery, building kiln cars, and performing quality control tests

Required Skills And Abilities

• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Apply common-sense problem-solving
• Work effectively in standardized production environments
• High-school level math skills, including geometry and algebra
• Interpret charts, tables, formulas, and precision measurements
• Forklift operator certification
• At least one to three years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting

Physical Requirements

• Regular standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pulling, and grasping
• Lift 25 to 50 pounds frequently and more than 50 pounds occasionally
• Close-range vision and ability to judge distance and spatial relationships
• Work with a variety of production machinery, mixers, presses, kilns, precision measuring tools, and basic computer systems
