Responsibilities
- Full-time position with two days of clinic and three days in the OR.
- Low-volume 1:4 breast surgery call schedule, typically 1–2 consults with minimal operative cases.
- Focus on complex surgical cases, with most benign non-surgical cases managed by an advanced practice provider (APP).
- Passionate about teaching surgical residents and collaborating with medical oncology fellows in the program.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, reconstructive plastic surgeons, and breast dedicated radiologists.
- Participate in weekly breast-specific multidisciplinary tumor board meetings, integrative medicine specialists, genetic counselors, and breast-specific nurse navigation.
Requirements
- Completed fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology.
- Trained in the full spectrum of breast surgical procedures, including non-wire localization techniques and nipple-sparing mastectomy.
- Passionate about teaching surgical residents and collaborating with medical oncology fellows.
- Experience with complex surgical cases and ability to manage benign non-surgical cases through advanced practice providers.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Surgery and/or Breast Surgical Oncology.
- Current Florida Medical License.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Skills
- Strong surgical skills and proficiency in breast surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and teaching abilities.
- Experience with complex surgical cases and management of benign non-surgical cases.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
