Breast Imaging Radiologist (MD/DO) - Per Diem - UNC Health Caldwell

About the role
UNC Health is seeking clinically oriented, board-certified/board-eligible Radiologists to join our team at UNC Health Caldwell in Lenoir, NC. This position supports radiology services at the hospital and mammography center, focusing on the interpretation of breast imaging studies (mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI) and performing image-guided breast procedures such as biopsies and localizations.
We are open to per diem, part-time, or full-time breast-imaging radiology candidates. The role operates on a hybrid model with Monday through Friday, dayshift hours only.
- Full-time: Covers onsite breast imaging needs at the main campus and mammography center 2–3 days per week, with teleradiology work (diagnostic and breast screens) when not onsite.
- Part-time: 2–3 days per week of breast imaging work, onsite at UNC Health Caldwell Hospital and the mammography center.
- PRN: As-needed, onsite breast procedural work at UNC Health Caldwell Hospital and the mammography center.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Radiology residency program.
- Board-certified/board-eligible in Radiology; BC/BE in Breast Imaging Radiology preferred.
- Eligible for or ability to obtain North Carolina medical licensure.
- DEA and ACLS certification.
- Extensive experience performing breast procedural work.
- Proficiency in English communication.
