Breakwater 5th/6th Grade Classroom Assistant

Position Overview

The qualified educator must be passionate about supporting children and have a willingness to learn and grow. This position supports fifth and sixth-grade students with many opportunities to work one-on-one and in groups with students. The 5th/6th grade is a multi-age program that is part of an elementary school covering all subjects (math, language arts, science, outdoor adventure, and Phys. Ed).

Preferred Qualifications And Experience

• History of professional work experience with children in 3rd through 8th grade
• Demonstrated ability to engage in positive relationships with staff, supervisors, children, and families
• Ability to be flexible, work collaboratively and plan with other teachers, and support the program as a whole
• Experience designing and leading engaging literacy, math, art, science, or social/ emotional curriculum
• Experience or ability to drive a 15-passenger van and/or minibus
