Typical Shift Times: AM SHIFT 5:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist for hotel restaurant.
- Understand food cost and portion control without sacrificing quality.
- Assist with quality and presentation issues, cleanliness, and organization of kitchen and restaurant when necessary.
- Accommodate guests’ special requests.
- Adhere to proper food handling and safety guidelines at all times.
- Assist with inventory, ordering and receiving of all Food and Beverage items as directed.
- Maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen area.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with guests, clients, co-workers, and management.
- Adhere to proper grooming and dress codes for the department.
- Carry out hotel emergency procedures.
- Perform all other duties as directed, developed, or assigned.
Requirements
- Food preparation experience, ability to follow recipes, adhere to all food safety guidelines, and excellent customer service skills.
- Operate equipment such as, but not limited to, oven, grill, stove, dishwasher, and utensils.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
