Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is searching for a Breakfast Attendant for the Staybridge Suites in Minot, North Dakota.

About the role

Greet and seat all guests and ensure a quality dining experience. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us. Assist in preparation, cooking, and presentation of food according to standard recipes for the bistro and banquet rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every guest/customer with a smile and positive attitude.
  • Prepare and present food items, organize and maintain a clean service area, clean tables, and follow all health codes.
  • Ensure all guests are dealt with in a professional, consistent manner.
  • Diplomatically handle difficult situations and people.
  • Ensure the entire food selection is available daily and hours of operation are strictly adhered to.
  • Monitor and inspect all food & beverage deliveries, ensuring portion controls are adhered to.
  • Provide a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs, Health Department requirements, and job safety analysis.
  • Maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen area.
  • Inspect food and beverage outlets for proper storage, neatness, cleanliness, side-work, and rotation of inventory.
  • Assist with daily/weekly/monthly food and beverage inventories.
  • Be an enthusiastic, helpful, and positive member of the team.
  • Be professional, responsible, and mature in conduct and behavior.
  • Be understanding of, encouraging to, and friendly with all co-workers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, secondary qualification, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including assignment of duties, evaluating service, and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures, and transcriptions generated by computer.
  • Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations.
  • Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages.
  • Basic computational ability.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing equal employment opportunity, civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations.
  • Knowledge of state regulations regarding health policies.
  • Food handler's permit if required by state law.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain Alcohol Awareness training, if required by state law and/or brand standard.

Skills

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
  • Must be able to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning/inspection tasks.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and subordinates.
  • Vision occurs continuously, with the most common visual functions being near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
